Discussion notes may be submitted to the Journal of Ethics and Social Philosophy on any topic in ethics, social, legal, or political philosophy, broadly construed. Discussion notes are handled separately from main article submissions and published in a separate, "Discussions Notes" section of the journal.
Discussion notes published in JESP are often replies to other published work, some of it published in JESP but much of it published in other places. Discussion notes may also offer concise new defenses of a familiar view, advance a novel argument, or otherwise make some contribution that does not require more lengthy development.
Discussion notes submitted to JESP should be under 3000 words in length, inclusive of notes and references.
